I’m not quite sure what to think about our results. The nurse said they are “cautiously optimistic.” I don’t know what exactly that is supposed to mean. Am I suppose to be happy or a nervous wreck? My levels didn’t quite double from Wednesday to Friday. 1st BETA was 543 ( I guess that is on the high side?), but Friday’s was 897 (not double). I have to go back in on Tuesday for another blood test. I have a horrible sinking feeling that something is wrong. Any insight?
Screw the “cautiously”…I’m totally about the optimistic part.
Posted 1 year, 10 months agoWhat an offhand way to say you’ve got a BFP!!!! Fabulous!
Posted 1 year, 10 months agoI’m with DD, caution to the wind. Guarding your feelings now won’t matter in the end, regardless.
Hmmm, that does sound good but odd… I will keep all fingers and toes crossed for you.
Posted 1 year, 10 months agoWell, 66 hours doubling time is a little on the slow side, but not out of the ‘normal’ range (48-72 hours). You are definitely pregnant, and those numbers are good to start off with. Let’s hope that Tuesday brings fabulous news. Congratulations!

Posted 1 year, 10 months agoI had a similiar experience when I was pg with twins. My number never doubled…. but in the end it worked out well. Congratulations!
Posted 1 year, 10 months agoFirst things first - you are pregnant! Congratulations! I agree with DD and Lut C - the dr.’s have only the “standard” guidelines to go by and results don’t always fit into those. Remember that they are practicing medicine - if they knew everything we would all be knocked up - unfortunately our bodies operate differently and not always in predictable patterns.
I am sorry you have to wait until Tuesday to get more answers. I think I read you are a teacher, so is that your first day of school? If so, I am so sorry for the added stress. Please keep us updated, if you are able.
BTW - go by another pair of jeans.
